The Summer Solstice, also known as Midsummer, marks the longest day and the shortest night of the year, a powerful turning point in the Earth’s rhythm. It's a time when the sun reaches its peak, bathing us in light, warmth, and vitality. Across cultures and centuries, this moment has been honored through rituals, gatherings, and stories woven with magic, mystery, and reverence.
From the fire festivals of ancient Celtic traditions to the midnight sun celebrations of Scandinavia, Midsummer has always been a celebration of life, abundance, and renewal. Bonfires were lit to mimic the strength of the sun and to ward off shadows, symbolizing purification and transformation. Flowers, herbs, and water were believed to carry heightened energy and used for healing, blessing, and protection. It's a time where the veil between the seen and unseen feels thinner.
